About Me
Not remotely everything about me, but probably too much.
Hi, my name is Ash (short for Ashur).
I split my time between NYC and the Hudson Valley. I spend a lot of time thinking about the future and how our vision of it has evolved over time. Also about books, airplanes and my dog Robot.
I went to Cornell undergrad and Columbia Law and practiced law for a while, including at Skadden, Arps.
I’m a founder several times over, an advisor, a board member, an occasional GC and COO, and an investor. I started an incubator / sci-if bookshop / publishing company in DUMBO that was called Singularity&Co., and from there I helped grow a lot of businesses, including co-founding White Ops, now known as HUMAN Security, and after that was COO/GC of Sentieo.
I’m also currently one of the people behind Fulcra Dynamics, board member of or advisor to several other very cool companies, and co-founder of 1o (now Katalys).
These days I’m mostly focused on the creation of new, more fair, more democratic forms of interaction, agreement and exchange, and finding ways to live more deliberately. I think one of the best ways to prepare for the future is to make sure that knowledge and data is not lost.
Here’s a list of my favorite sci-fi (and adjacent) books of all time. If you squint while you read them, you’ll see the blueprint a lot of very smart people are following as they build the future.
